Wednesday July 5 sees Ibiza’s most famous hippy market, Punta Arabi, welcome New York based musician Quinn Luke, AKA Bing Ji Ling, who will perform at the hippy market as his only Ibiza date during his extensive European tour. With six artist albums and numerous singles under his belt and having formerly been an integral part of famous NY group Phenomenal Hand Clap, who opened for the likes of Roxy Music, Franz Ferdinand and Simian Mobile Disco, to name only a few, Quinn Luke is an accomplished singer/ songwriter.
Punta Arabi is enjoying every second of its 44th season delivering the finest hippy market experience to shoppers from all over the world. With a vast array of goods from local and international designers on show, it’s no wonder the market has become a must visit for the fashion conscious visiting the island. Obviously, there is a large tourist element to the traffic that passes through the signature gates, the Punta Arabi market has been a part of the Ibiza tapestry for over four decades. While it boasts some of the finest bespoke goodies, it’s also a place to relax, to have fun and to listen to some fantastic live music. Wednesday July 5 is the next edition of the market and will feature Bing Ji Ling live from midday. There will also be a DJ set from Daniel Peñacoba, presenter of La Captura Del Sonido on Ibiza Global Radio.
Bing Ji Ling, aka Quinn Luke will drop into the market the day before to interpret several live themes that he will incorporate onto his Wednesday performance at the island’s oldest hippy market. With a rich and sustained career in the music business, Bing Ji Ling has a wide range of musical genres to choose from, including pop, soul, funk and disco and even sophisticated yacht rock! Using his guitar, a microphone and drum machine he offers a musical journey to punctuate your day at the market that is well worth attending. His connection with the clubbing capital extends to a recent dalliance with dance music as a genre through the Coppa moniker where he received recognition from respected global dance artists such as Idjut Boys, Prins Thomas and Todd Terje. It’s the latest example of Punta Arabi’s dedicartion to offering its clientele more than an extraordinary shopping experience, turning a visit to the hippy market into a day out for everyone!
