Sunday February 22 saw Blue Marlin Ibiza bring its unique party vibe to London’s La Maison Des Artistes’ magnificent space banking hall for a collaboration with Jean Claude Ades’ Be Crazy and one of the city’s coolest club brands, Pool Disco. The Art Deco banking hall in the heart of London’s Square Mile provided the dramatic Gatsby-esque backdrop for the exclusive Sunday brunch during London Fashion week. The combination of the party brands and one of the biggest fashion gatherings of the year was only ever going to end one way, a capacity turn out of some of the most beautiful clubbers on the planet and a soundtrack fitting for the occasion.
The first impression on walking into the prestigious venue is the grandeur of the interior, with the glamorous crowd that has filled it coming a close second. The girls looked like they had just stepped of a catwalk and the boys off the page of a Hugo Boss campaign, sharply dressed and wonderfully glamorous, but that’s exactly would we expect from each of the brands involved. Imagine the crowd that normally populates one of the famous Blue Marlin Ibiza gatherings overlooking Cala Jondal and put another layer or two on them! The event wasn’t short of celebs hopping from one fashion show to the other, the actress Lindsay Lohan showed up in a dazzling sequined dress.
The striking columns of the art deco architecture frame the dancefloor in a unique fashion and with a line up that includes Neverdogs, Headspace, Duel, D.A.X and Blue Marlin Ibiza resident Vidal Rodriguez in the main room and Nicola Marian Robinson and So:Serious (Lica and Jay Medvedeva) in the elevated restaurant room, there is plenty of reason for dancing. Surrounded by glass, the restaurant room on the first level offers the chance to do a spot of crowd watching while enjoying the delicious Mediterranean menu that underlines further the Blue Marlin Ibiza connection, although, watching what is going on below is the last thing on our mind, trying to stop our toes tapping as we enjoy our food is impossible as our DJs deliver a hip-swinging musical journey.
The main room floor has been packed from the minute we enter and the vibe is positively electric. The music is on a cutting edge tip, something that has become synonymous with a Blue Marlin Ibiza party, no matter where in the world it tales place. Driving basslines, chunky beats and the odd respite for a breakdown serve to whip the crowd into a frenzy as the journey progresses throughout the afternoon. Pooldisco is one of London’s finest parties, with a chic crowd that trusts it implicitly, having enjoyed numerous amazing clubbing experiences from the rooftop of Shoreditch House to the huge open-air amphitheatre that is Ushuaia Ibiza. The glamorous trifecta is completed with the addition of Be Crazy, one of the most stylish crowds on Ibiza in the last few years. The dancing continues throughout the afternoon as that infamous Ibiza vibe infiltrates the heart of the countries capital and delivers a Sunday brunch to remember!
