Restaurants

Ibiza may be the clubbing capital of the world but the food scene is fast becoming a reason to rival music for visiting our stunning island. World famous eateries are arriving every season and many independent operators have stepped up to the hot plate and delivered the most amazing dining experiences in recent years. Whether you are looking for a delicious meal in simple, authentic surroundings or whether you want to feel like a movie star, Ibiza is the place to come.

As a clubbing generation moves on but still wants to maintain its connection with the island that defined its adulthood, thoughts turn away from sweaty clubs and towards beach locations, cool parties, that finish not to late and eating out. It is the latter that has moved us to create this restaurant platform, an homage to the numerous food operators that have really accepted the challenge of catering to this generation and who have well and truly placed Ibiza on the food map. Over the course of the year we will be featuring some of the finest establishments on the island, giving you the chance to take notes and plan your next visit as we unearth some of the gems that has the islands mouths watering.

    Hard Rock Cafe

Hard Rock Caf chose Vara de Rey as the location for its first venue in Ibiza. The legendary avenue in the heart of Ibiza Town is a bustling hive of activity and the perfect place for the Caf that shows off some of the finest rock, pop and dance memorabilia. Choose and eat you food surrounded by John Lennon’s famous leather jacket, or the velvet dinner jacket of Elton John, the bright Blue shoes of Eric Clapton or Roger Taylor’s drum kit from Queen early days. There are bits of musical history throughout the caf but don’t let that distract you from the delicious menu.

    La Escollera

Restaurants in Ibiza are no longer the hang ten sandy floor beach huts of yore. They are now full service establishments with sun loungers and custom CDs. Sadly, a lot of places lose their soul in the process, leaving us the diners adrift and displaced. Thankfully, that is not the case of La Escollera. Here, Wilhelmina Kraal and Daniel Gonzlez are embracing change by turning their classic seafood restaurant into a full service beach club. A new brighter design welcomes the international set. Teak furniture, white awnings and one of the friendliest staff you will ever meet blend effortlessly with the azure waters and the Formentera views. In this upgrade, Spanish classics like grilled squid, salt crust fish, and paellas are served alongside real vegetarian options, Asian inspired appetizers – and sushi! The overall sensation is that of an old friend sporting a new face lift- a bit hard to recognize but unmistakably familiar.

    Sa Punta Restaurant Ibiza

Situated just at the end of Talamana Beach, just minutes from Ibiza Town, the beautiful and stylish Sa Punta restaurant is a must do for the well heeled and trendy jet set visitors of Ibiza. A chilled Ibiza beach restaurant by day and a stunning, impeccably stylish, restaurant by night, Sa Punta is easily one of the best restaurants on the island.

    Somiart

Somiart, Ibicencan for ‘Dream Of Art’, is a fitting name for the unique restaurant/ cabaret concept on the seafront in Santa Eulalia. Fitting because owner Javier, member of the famous Foc I Fum collective, had a dream for a food and drink experience like no others on the island, showcasing his ability and passion for theatre as well as a desire to provide quality food and drink for the patrons who frequent his beautiful establishment. The result, a stunning restaurant overlooking the sea, with numerous outdoor stage options as well as trapeze set high above the restaurant floor, where performance art adds more than a touch of the dramatic to a delicious dining experience.

    SACCA

SACCA was a welcome addition to the Ibiza landscape in 2013, offering an al fresco dining experience in the heart of the Ibiza countryside. SACCA is a high end Asian dining experience that introduces award winning Australian chef Lex Hauser to the educated palates that visit Ibiza throughout the season. With huge round bar in the centre of the outside dining space, an open kitchen at one side and a long Sushi bar at the top of the garden, SACCA made a big impact when it opened its doors on the site of previous island favourite Aura. The minimal design, delicious menu and discerning clientele were treated to some fine dining and finer entertainment during the debut season. From the minute Sven Vath played a set inside the club for the opening party, the bar was set. Richie Hawtin continued the superstar DJ affiliation, choosing a range of Sake for the new eatery and Luciano delivered the closing party set. SACCA offers two distinct experiences, the garden dining and cocktail option and the cool but intimate club space that generates a unique party atmosphere.

    Kasbah

Kasbah enjoys one of the finest locations of any restaurant on the island. Located at the end of the Sunset Strip in San Antonio, Kasbah has a front row seat for one of the finest sunsets on the planet.

    Es Savina

Es Savina is the epitome of authentic, rustic charming Ibiza. The coastal location – surrounded by cliffs and overlooking the beautiful bay and its white-washed pebbled beach – is so stunning, it could easily belong to a five star resort. But the laid-back atmosphere, live music and eclectic crowd of diners, as well as the hearty fare make you relax almost instantly and offer a refreshing antidote to the island’s jet set hotspots. With a mouth watering Mediterranean menu that incorporates island favourites, fresh seafood, the finest cuts of meat, red and white and vegetables from the farm fields, not to mention a vibrant live music offering, Es Savina offers the perfect destination for a memorable dinner.

    Kama Sushi

Kama Sushi is located on San Antonio’s famous sunset strip, offering the unique sunset and sushi combination. San An’s only sushi restaurant offers a variety of handmade sushi, all the ingredients are brought in fresh daily making it the perfect meal to accompany one of Ibiza’s amazing sunsets. With a range of noodle dishes and Japanese influenced cocktails the simple Sushi restaurant set on a simple wooden terrace looking out over the Mediterranean offers a tranquil dining experience.

    El Hotel Restaurant Ibiza

El Restaurant, set within the glamorous and stylish chic of the Pacha owned El Hotel, has all the ingredients to impress. Open all year round you are able to select from either delicate sushi, served Thursday to Sunday nights, to a creative and changing a la carte menu served every night – again all year round.
