Dan Reid has combined his passion for photography with a talent, enthusiasm and determination that has seen him carve out a successful career with his camera. From early outings assisting on shoots for the likes of The Manic Street Preachers, Reef and Macy Gray, Dan’s ability behind the camera was recognized, leading to him contributing to leading dance title DJ Magazine.
It wasn’t long before Dan was shooting his first cover for the magazine, The Chemical Brothers, now, with numerous covers under his belt, including Mylo, Kasabian and Mark Ronson to name only a few, his camera regularly takes hi around the world. His stock is high with the likes of John Digweed, Carl Cox and David Morales, all of whom have requested his services in the past and he is regularly asked to deliver press shots for the likes of James Zabiela, Nic Fanciulli and the Global Underground album series.
A long running relationship with equipment manufacturer Pioneer sees Dan capturing their sponsored artists live in action on Pioneer products at events worldwide. His live shoots now extend way beyond the DJ booth and into the stadium, for performers including Lilly Allen, The Enemy, Lenny Kravitz and Kasabian. Dan’s summer ’09 live work with Oasis at Wembley was used in the online advertising campaign for Liam Gallagher’s own clothing brand, Pretty Green.
Dan’s ability to put people at ease and interact with anyone is one of the major factors in his armoury, resulting in a relaxed honesty that he has become synonymous with capturing.
