60 Seconds with Steeve Valverde – Ibiza DJ

Steeve Valverde landed in Ibiza and immediately fell in love with the
island. His laid back attitude, born from an upbringing in the Caribbean
made him an instant hit with the locals and he has never left.We caught up
with him to get the skinny on his Ibiza…

What is it about Ibiza that makes it so special?

Anyone who lands on the island for the first time will sense something
magical. From this ‘magical’ feeling here starts your interminable
    adventure.

Does Ibiza still play a role in breaking a new tune?

It does, DJ’s still use the reputation of Ibiza to share their new and
unique productions in the process of making it popular and part of the
    music scene.

How important is Ibiza to the building of a global club brand?

Music unites people! Ibiza is integral and possibly the most important
part in creating a unique club brand with creative artists and then
gaining support from the club scene. If it succeeds in Ibiza that is the
    highlight!

    Describe your first Ibiza experience?

It reminded me of the Caribbean (where I’m from,) because of its lifestyle
and its beauty, that’s why I can’t leave!

Away from the club how do you relax on the island?

I walk my dog, I enjoy quad rides with mates, each time discovering new
places across the island and then I end the day with a relaxing swim.

    Which is your favourite beach?

I can’t say it’s a typical beach because there are rocks everywhere! But
it’s called Punta Galera, it’s a perfect place to snorkel and enjoy a
    quiet sunset!

What are you listening too chilling on the beach?

There’s no need for music, if it’s the right beach, nature gives you
    enough.

You’ve got a night off, where do you head for food?

Night off! I work 7/7 during summer, i have the all winter for chilling
and relaxing! I do however love to cook at home, seafood is my love!

Name three essential items needed to survive your Ibiza trip?

Map, sunglasses and remembering to go easy on yourself!

What’s the strangest thing you’ve seen/experienced on the island?

Anything can happen over here, Ibiza’s ‘freedom’ can make people do things
they wouldn’t at home, like wearing ski suits with glasses at a beach
party! My advice would be ‘You should defiantly come and experience it for
    yourself’
