Sarah returns to Pacha for another season behind the hallowed
turntables, playing alongside some of the world’s top DJ’s for many of
the top clubbing brands.
What is it about Ibiza that makes it so special?
I think it is an intangible thing, a feeling that cannot be described in
words, but lets have a go anyway! It is all about the energy in Ibiza.
An energy that if you are open to, it will take you on a wonderful
journey and allow you to experience amazing situations and meet
incredible people.
Does Ibiza still play a role in breaking a new tune?
I believe so because most of the international DJ’s and producers play
here in the summer, and they are playing the freshet cuts and
productions because they know that the Ibiza dancefloor is a great place
to ‘test’ their sounds.
How important is Ibiza to the building of a global club brand?
Being such an international stage I think it is very important and so do
many brands, that’s why they all keep coming back year after year to
host parties and events here, the answer is in their presence! Here, you
can reach the world scene and the discerning clubber in one night,
something that cannot really be done on the same level anywhere else in
the world.
Describe your first Ibiza experience?
It involved a certain Charlie Chester and a certain after party with
Derek Dahlarge! Well that was one of the crazy experiences I had! It
started off at Pikes, progressed to the Manumission Motel and ended 5
weeks later when I was pushed kicking and screaming through the gates of
Ibiza airportafter, may I add, doing the clichd thing of missing
countless flights! That was 1999 and after that I knew Ibiza would be my
home.
Away from the club how do you relax on the island?
I have three dogs who’s company I love, they are such characters they
make me smile everyday, I just love walking them on the beach, watching
and appreciating the peace and beauty of my surroundings. I love to be
in nature and Ibiza has many hidden spots that you can go and find total
tranquility.
Which is your favourite beach?
I don’t have one, it depends on my mood. Cala Nova for a bit of Aussie
style bodysurfing, Cala Salada for swimming in a big ocean swimming
pool, Cala Conta for some natural moments (If you get what I mean
(he-he) and Cala Llena for an Icy cold refreshing winter dip!!
What are you listening too chilling on the beach?
Normally the sound of the ocean! I lost my i-pod!
You’ve got a night off, where do you head for food?
The Fish Shack on the Talamanca rocks has always been a favourite of
mine, also gotta send a big up to the crew at Bambuddah Grove. I and
Pastis, a little gorgeous French style eatery near Plaza Del Parque or
generally the best is the infamous BBQ’s at the Main residence.
Name three essential items needed to survive your Ibiza trip?
A positive outlook, sense of adventure and a pocket full of
What’s the strangest thing you’ve seen/experienced on the island?
Obviously something that involved Charlie Chester! The Party Connoisseur
ha-ha, apart from that it had something to do with 10 strings of pearls
and a lady
