Sankeys Manchester is one of the finest venues in which to enjoy dance
music anywhere in the world. Having been voted best club in the DJ
Magazine Top 100 Club Awards in 2010, they decided it was time to share
their unique clubbing experience with the rest of the world and the
clubbing capital was the natural choice. After a start that saw most of
their trademark production fail to arrive on time, Sankeys has delivered
numerous amazing parties and captured the imagination of true clubbers
around the island.
Sankeys lies just off the main strip in Playa D’en Bossa, a short walk
from the Garbi Hotel on the street running parallel to the main road. It
took its time to find its feet this summer but in a venue that hasn’t
enjoyed the best luck in the last few years, the Manchester based club
has delivered one of the surprises of the summer. They have transformed
the sleeping giant into a must visit venue through a combination of hard
work and clever programming.
Sankeys Director David Vincent has a very clear idea of what Sankeys is
and how it fits into the global clubbing map, although, when
Essentialibiza spoke to him last summer he was pleasantly surprised at
how the brand had been embraced by the cooler, more underground element
in Ibiza, the clubbers that are scattered throughout the island but who
are not afraid to travel for a good party. This summer sees an eclectic
mix of world class club brands Duke Dumont Presents Blas Boys Club for
8 Monday night shows between June 30 until September 1, Tuesdays sees
FUSE return for its sixth summer, Tribal Sessions makes its debut on
Wednesday, Thursday sees Amine Edge and DANCE bring CUFF to Sankeys,
Flying Circus takes on the Friday night, Magna Carts drops into Saturday
and Steve Lawler brings Viva Warriors back to Sundays in Sankeys.
