Rob Marmot will once again join Pete Tong in Wonderland’s main room for
summer 2010. Rob is well seasoned on Ibiza in the summertime, having
played extensively throughout the island for a number of years, he is more
than capable of driving the big room. Essential Ibiza caught up with Rob
to get his insight into the white isle�
What makes Ibiza the clubbing Mecca that it is?
Ibiza has a special energy about the island that brings special people
from all over the world – you can meet club owners from Japan or clubbers
from Canada and they all know their music and want to enjoy themselves.
What’s the craziest thing you’ve witnessed or been a part of on the
island?
Several crazy after parties with Sven Vath and Eric Morillo and Pete,
probably seeing 200 of the wealthiest people walking down a dirt track at
night to find this villa to watch Pete DJ with The Swedish House Mafia.
What’s your first memory of the island?
Being on holiday as a clubber and feeling the energy from the island,
seeing the manumission show and the experiencing whole vibe of the island.
What’s your favourite restaurant?
Balafia for lovely meat, or eating by the pool at the restaurant at Es
Vive Hotel, which has amazing food
What are your top three must have items when travelling to Ibiza?
Flip flops, sunglasses and music.
What’s you’re favourite beach and why?�
Blue Marlin @ Cala Jondal, which is always great or Es Cavallett for the
space around you.
What’s on your mp3 player when you’re chilling at the beach?
The Waves on the shore or the music from the beach bar
How do you keep your sanity playing on the island for the summer?
To not treat it as a three-month holiday and try not to get sucked into
everyone else’s holiday plans, I go to the gym regularly and also go to
yoga to keep a balance.
