San Miguel beach in the Port of San Miguel, a short drive from the
picturesque village of Santa Gertrudis, is a pretty and safe family
beach (with its own life guard) offering powder sands and flanked by
pine trees either side amongst the resort’s hotels. You can chill on the
beach, where beds and parasols are about €7, or take advantage of a
number of water sports, such as the Banana ride for the adventurous or a
Pedallo for those who like their activity at a slow pace. We recommend
you take a boat around the coast, check out the bay of the tremendous 5
star Hacienda hotel or the tranquil waters of Benirras and the famous
‘God’s Finger’ rock where the brave can even climb up and leap in!
There is also a glass bottomed boat ride and some great snorkelling in
the area. A number of good restaurants are within easy reach including
the acclaimed Balansat Fish and Seafood Restaurant which has excellent
Lobster and a renowned seafood paella. Plus, for those of you who want a
little exercise, you can take a walk up to the pirate tower at the top
of the Port, but we warned – it is a very steep climb!
The bay is also convenient for taxis to Santa Gertrudis for a great
meal, or further a field to Ibiza Town or San Antonio.
